Marble Care

Routine Care

If cared for properly, your cultured marble product should last a lifetime. Just follow these easy steps:

  • We sell a good marble polish, but you may have something in your cleaning cabinet that will work just as well. Clean with a soft sponge or cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner such as Windex or 409. Many of our clients also recommend Pledge Wipes. Avoid abrasive products like Comet or Soft Scrub as they may scratch or dull the finish.
  • Return luster with an occasional application of paste wax, such as Turtle Wax or Gelkare.
  • Re-caulk as necessary using a latex caulk with silicone such as Dap or Phenoseal.
  • To reduce high energy costs, lower your potential for personal injury, and protect your cultured marble, adjust your water heater temperature to 135 degrees or less. Over time, extremely hot water can affect the protective surface of the product.

NOTE: Because it's a sealed surface, you can safely disinfect our cultured products with Lysol or a similar product. For really stubborn stains, try a dab of acetone nail polish remover. Immediately flush thoroughly with water.

Repairs:
Although cultured products are hard and resilient enough to hold up under daily use, they can be chipped or gouged. The good news is that most damage is repairable. This is not normally a do-it-yourself project. Call FCM to schedule a repair service call.
